Reminds me of a job I had in my early 20's where I a work check was held in the bank for 5 to 10 days during the Christmas holidays, which then cleared two weeks later when I got my next check. That was the first time realizing to avoid any type of banking during that time of year (which I still do) since banks were only open 2 or maybe 3 day during a week depending where the Holiday lands.
