But the client makes the call.
Lawyers recommend/advise, but they have no authority to demand that a client reject or accept an offer.

They can't say they won't proceed because the money isn't right.
They get their piece/%.
That's it.
They obviously are interested in the final number, but they don't have a vested interest.
If Billy said he'll take $45 million, then that's the deal.
I believe lawyers can be disbarred if they do not.
Not being combative - just saying that this is the way it works.
Remember, if a client is offered $50 million to settle mid-trail and rejects it, his lawyer is now risking $17 million of his "own" money to proceed.
That lawyer can't say he won't go on. He can argue until he is blue in the face, but the client makes the call.
