Can you confirm that Merck has actually closed this deal as it looks like they are not the only potential suitors of Acceleron. BMY has the most ties with Acceleron. I cannot find confirmation.

They can issue stock if they wanted to buy the company. In addition, I believe stock transaction is better than cash transaction in the midst of 40% cap gain tax. Who want to get hair cut with that tax?
