#8457 RE: Porgie Tirebiter #8456

I am not going to point my finger of blame at anyone concerning what has become a global epidemic. I am, in a sense, part of the problem due to my own lack of concern about future pandemics. It goes without saying academics since the beginning of the current century have issued warnings that addressed the global unpreparedness.

Why do I say I am part of the problem? Well, to be truthful, when the first reports of the influenza infections were reported from the Wuhan province that were rapidly spreading my first reaction was it was bioterrorism perpetrated by Chinese version of the Soviet politburo.

I soon changed my mind because I realized that notion was total nonsense. The Chinese politburo may not care too much for the US way of doing things politically speaking but they're not sadists, either.

Meanwhile, the story about the virus' origin continues.

In the earliest days of the pandemic, why did scientists, first consider, then quickly dismiss that this virus could be bio-engineered? A CNN special report, hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, delves into the potential origins of the virus that caused the pandemic. -- Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CNN.
