Personally I believe insurers look at it this way - everyone is going to die - the longer they keep people alive the more likely they are to develop chronic health problems that will be costly to treat - - you prevent the heart attack but now people get DJD and need joint replacements - get DM2 and need a ton of meds - develop dementia need nursing homes etc etc - its cheaper just to let them die - so US insurers are really not that interested in prevention or 5 years down the line - they are only interested in THEIR bottom line.
Insurers review me all the time why isnt anyone reviewing insurers on patient longevity etc - you think the government might be interested in this date but they are led around by insurance companies like clueless puppies
