Thats because they sold fewer cars !

GM & Hyundai combined have sold 40,000 EVs to date vs 2 million+ with Tesla. So to say Tesla has more fires is factually inaccurate. Legacy auto makers just sold fewer cars.

All Tesla fires have been debunked as human error including the one's that spontaneously combust in garages. Those were the result of improper installation of charging outlets 240v in peoples garages.

Chevrolet Bolt Fires are caused by manufacturing defect in battery causing them to explode when charged.
Tesla fires are caused by negligent drivers crashing they're vehicles at high speeds, arson or improper care of batteries, chargers causing shorts and spontaneous fires. Not a manufacturing defect.Hence why there will never be a recall.

There are 200,000 Gas Fires per year or 20,000 a month. Do you have a count list of those? why only Tesla, seems odd?

Also interesting to note majority of car fires occur between 3pm and 6pm during the day and not at night. That is another conspiracy theory debunked.

>>> Why is it that Legacy auto has fewer EV combustion incidents over the last 2 years yet…

You are once again unfairly spinning and incorrectly comparing the situation. As previously explained, total counts don’t tell the real story.

Now if you on the other hand convert the numbers into a PER AVERAGE number of miles driven…. You will come to see that EVs compared to their equivalent gas counterparts are vastly safer as a whole.

It’s better to phase out gas, phase in EVs just based on the superior safety factor.
