Interesting, when I had my pre op appt, the doc knew of V and said no need to taper off and I could take it prior to surgery along with my BP meds if I wanted to.
I had bilateral hernia surgery a year ago. Was not requested to stop V. Only side effect seemed to be no bruising and rapid healing. Brother had 6 stents, 3 left and 3 right in one surgery with 2 cardiologists, one arm and one groin. Was not requested to stop V. Hematoma in groin which healed quickly.
We will typically stop fish oil and vascepa a week before a major surgery where significant bleeding is anticipated. I have personally seen significant bleeding in surgery with no other attributable reason than fish oil supplementation.
