Since we're talking baseball this morning...I used to tee it up with the Met's managers. The foursome consisted of Davey Johnson, Frank Howard and Bill Robinson and me. Johnson could really tag it but Hondo couldn’t hit it 220. He’d slice the ball down the middle all day. He was a gentle giant and totally hilarious. Man could those boys drink and be merry. I couldn’t keep up. I never let on that I was a die-hard Yankee fan. Small wonder as free tickets behind home plate were mine for the asking. My dates thought I was Charlie Sheen.
