It's probably the same as GME only on a smaller scale. The shorts need to cover and they use halts to protect themselves. It's rigged against the little guy, but when they run out of chicken little pinkie investors to panic sell it can blow up in their faces. Then they just take it way higher to short again at a level they're more comfortable with....
