Cognate is gearing up to produce a gene therapy product (technically L is gene therapy). As you may recall the clean rooms shipped to Memphis as well as the architectural renderings I found and linked detailed these 10 or so clean rooms to be around 150sqft. Small rooms more likely to be found in a compounding pharmacy (personalized medicine) than a production facility. Unless said facility is to produce a personalized (autologous) product…..I would tend to agree with diver in that the UK will be first to approve, but would not rule out a possible simultaneous approval…..which would be interesting (and cool). Don’t have time to expound on more items including “being bitchy” (for extremist the Tarot card dealer).
But speaking of “cool” might be a good time for the more intrepid board readers located in or around Memphis and Sawston to visit the local dry ice* purveyors (one or two at most I suspect) and “shoot the sh—“ so to speak (pun intended) on what potential business they may have on the horizon in the vaccine arena especially in light of the Covid vaccines. Would not be on the same scale as Pfizer (Kalamazoo) or Moderna (Boston area) for Covid, but would be significant enough to reach out to said purveyors to provide a heads-up.
