Jasbg, That would be like giving Hitler credit for building Germany
into a world power...only to lead to its devastating destruction.
Thero took a great Cardiovascular drug...and never gained traction
with it. Thero laid a great drug to waste. Apart from some very
poor decisions Thero had zero leadership skills. If he were the
Captain of the Titanic, he would be the first one to jump into a
lifeboat and blame his steering the ship into a massive iceberg
on the first mate. Sadly, his inability to establish Vascepa as
a major well known Cardiovascular drug costs some CVD patients
their lives. (Much of that I would blame more on the FDA.)
The biggest fault I find with Thero is his not selling the company
to a BP who could have optimized the uptake of the drug. The best
time to have sold the company would have been before raising money to
expand the sales force...instead of engaging Goldman Sachs to raise money
he should have hired an investment bank to find a buyer.
Hopefully, he will not interfere with KM and let him run the ship.
Europe should be of great value if in the right hands. We shall see.
