Oakes, an average car engine and transmission weights about 350 pounds. An EV battery weighs 1000 pounds. Assuming and EV needs no other parts the net weight gain is 650 pounds. If I put an extra 650 pounds in my Camry, approximately how will it affect my gas mileage?
Isn't industrial Chlorine production currently via membrane separation as well, so also very energy intensive? If so, then a cheaper source would take 100% of the market. Seems like good potential for complete substitution with the benefit of getting H2 and valuable Li out of the process.
