I suspect that Missling et al may be rethinking whether the traditional CNS diseases aren't part of a broader Sigma 1 deficiency or dysfunction syndrome. If you get so far upstream in an effective MOA here, you are climbing above the traditional disease boundaries and treating all of them with the same therapeutic acting in the same way. That doesn't describe multiple diseases -- just one.
