TM - is the new Exxon on the downstream side. Although I only have second hand discussions of the TM-CVX collaboration from years ago, I do know for certain that the original thought was we will have plenty of NG even as crude production plateaus and start declining. H2 converted from NG would be the economical end game. H2 converted from electrons was never the intention and the positive economics for "green" H2 will always be superseded by economics of direct usage of electrons IMO.

TM is suppose to have debuted a solid state battery EV prototype by 2020 Olympics that is now occurring one year later. Still no prototype. The Toyoda family needs new blood or risk going the way of Sony. Meanwhile BYD new EV line up is on the edge of upfront cost competitiveness with ICE of the same class as their LPF module costs dip below $100/kw.
