Kiwi Yes I have seen it. Patients who were admitted to hospital already on chronic statin therapy did better than similar patients who were not on a statin. No evidence or reason to think adding a statin at the time of diagnosis would be of benefit. This is not a new treatment option merely showing existing statin therapy may have benefit. Statins are suspected to have anti-inflammatory properties so this would make sense. Definitely not competition for V. Maybe in addition to V????? but no trials proving the addition of a statin at time of diagnosis is beneficial.
