Lodas, While you may be right in asking us to not put everything in 'Hope' as far as our WaMu investment is concerned, I think you are getting too Cynical in your responses to JHD and others here to "Not Hope'. JHD had alluded to in his past posts here, and I did, as well as LG and others did here, that we are not putting any 'blind faith' in anything but going by certain timeline 'dictated' by SEC & IRS rules as far a BK companies' 'Restructurings' & "M&A" Events' situations. So, we are all in the "Trust BUT Verify" Camp and not going by any 'Blind Faith', which you seem to be 'conflating' with the very powerful influencer concept/word called 'Hope', in your postings.
The IRS 'Ownership Change Rule' that LG has alluded to in many of his posts, does compel, based on the "M&A" Event that has transpired with the WMIH-NationStar Acquisition and the 'behind-the-scenes' KKR-driven WAND Entity Merger, that we need to wait till the July 31, 2021 date passes. And, as we are all well aware, with the WMI-LT Closure deliberations in the BK Court hearings & Filings, that WMI-LT is right now in the 'winding-up' phase of its Closure, which LG has so meticulously detailed in his postings. And definitely, again as LG has pointed out, and as evidenced by the 'Disclosure Statement' Filings of POR7, there are "Relevant Beneficiaries' of the Trust(s) to who many 'Final' distributions are to be made of these Trust(s) Assets, all pertaining to erstwhile WMI Holdings' subsidiary entities.
NOW, you are saying we should "Not Hope" to be recipients of such 'Final Distributions'. And you are basing your 'assertions' on 'past experience' within this BK. I can understand your cynicism, given the constant delays and certain of our 'datelines' not coming to fruition BUT that is more because we are all more conversant with 'normal' Stock Investment Timeframes and 90% of us here are 'first-timers' of investing into a complex/Grand Theft/Seized/Forced-Upon BK Event/SCAM/Scandal that the WaMu Saga Really is!
In summary, I would like to state that we are all not taking 'a Leap of Blind Faith' with our 'hope' to look for the July 31st date to pass and to 'wait out' the Final "Winding Down"/Closure events of the WMI-LT (and other Trusts) related to WMI Holdings and to 'wait for' the 'Final Consummation' of the WMIH-Nationstar as well as the WAND Corp. Entity's Merger. We are all in a "Trust But Verify" Mode and it is only reasonable to wait for these Final 'Consummation' events to transpire - this is a 'compulsion' 'imposed upon us' due the various IRS & SEC "M&A' and 'BK' regulations and Not a 'compulsiveness' that we are 'deluding ourselves into' due to any 'Blind Faith'.
