Living here in upstate New York, Gods country (Still snowing) there aren't a lot of companies compared to downstate (but who the hell would want to live and work in shthole Manhattan, sorry, I'm not a big fan of any cities, prefer the country) we are grateful for companies like Plug Power and Global Foundries that provide a lot of good paying jobs to their areas.

Global Foundries has bought and is looking to buy more land in Saratoga County, NY to build new fabs. Expect an announcement soon about a new 6 to 8 billion dollar fab, that will have a large portion of it devoted to photonics manufacturing.
