Why would they wait for gold to go higher when they can produce and hold off course assuming they can afford to!

Because it's much easier to say they are having production issues than to explain to investors and shareholders that they have gold, but they aren't going to have any revenue this quarter because they are holding off selling it. There would be an uproar.
