i admire your substanative objectivity. I really don't know anyone that uses GPRS, so i was wondering if it was a taco to taco comparison relating to battery life. And I also surmise that speed does matter, as well as efficiencies related to cdma vs. gsm/gprs. But the point that sonny makes that is very ligitimate is that the cusomer really doesn't care and until there is a real (proven)difference related to battery life, speed, etc, the benefit goes to factors such as brand recognition, entrencment, price, marketing, etc., all which weight in for the att's, cingular's, t-mobiles as supported by the nok's of the world. But then what do i know <g>

The battery life difference is real: Handspring claims 6 hrs of talk time with the GSM version, and only 4 hours on the CDMA version of the Treo600:
