Well, for one thing, the 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp derived cannabinoids, not cannabinoids from marijuana, or any other source, including GMO yeast.

For another, IMO, the FDA will likely consider all or most cannabinoid isolates to be drugs like Epidiolex, so no go in food or dietary supplements.

Additionally, I'm not sure what you mean by CBG being "clearly better" than CBD. Better at what?

You used aspirin as your analogy, and you were right to do so, as it is a drug. It's an OTC drug, but drugs are not allowed in food or dietary supplements.

Could GMO Yeast derived Cannabigerol isolate become an OTC drug? Maybe, but that would be years away.

HEMP.—The term ‘hemp’ means the plant Cannabis
sativa L. and any part of that plant
, including the seeds thereof
and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids,
salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a
delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than
0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.

No worries for CBG rich hemp extract though...

But our 2020 cultivation really focused on new cannabinoids. And so we planted more R&D cultivation to start building our CBG cannabinoid profile as well as some other minor cannabinoids that we have interest in translating through to new products.

There are lots of innovations coming through breeding the plant. I consider OregonCBDseeds to be at the forefront of hemp breeding, and here you can see some examples of where things are heading...how about a full spectrum CBGV rich hemp extract? Not rare enough? How about some full spectrum CBCV rich gummies? The full spectrum cannabinoid rich hemp extract market has barely begun to show it's depth.
