When I was in the commodity business for 38 years, the buyer at my largest account had every Marine paraphernalia made adorning his office, including a Marine rug. He was super good to me- sold him 8 million lbs one year.
Then after years, there was a new owner. The new owner didn't think much of his marine paraphernalia and told him to get all of it out. Things didn't get any better. The new owners tried to implement an online reverse Dutch Auction to purchasing but it fell flat- too few capable suppliers. They blamed him for its failure but it wasn't his fault.
They canned him shortly thereafter.
This buyer aged well in my mind as he was always good to me and my business.
