Early investors lost a LOT of money.

MAXD stock price spent most of 2015 between $0.02 and $0.04. So the typical purchaser in 2015 never, ever had a chance to sell for a profit since that time.

However, in 2015: Greg Halpern sold over a hundred million of his shares back to the company for $0.04/share.

Even worse, in 2013, Greg Halpern sold millions of his own shares on the open market for $0.10/share.

So the CEO of MAXD made millions of dollars dumping his shares, which suggests he knew well in advance the share price would never recover to those prices.
