Too much guesswork here, but I wouldn't jump to concluding they were manipulating data or method as "new findings" just for the heck of it. No real need to change 24 to 31 at this point unless they really had something "new" in the mortality data to justify this change.


Their "new finding" is that they can manipulate the data by dividing 8.9 by 27.90 instead of 36.84. The result is 31.9% and they are listing it as 31%. Maybe they have rounded up in the past but it isn't in their nature to be consistent. Now the question is whether the 82% and 78% were obtained by dividing the difference by the bigger or the smaller number. My guess is the latter. Why manipulate the data on the 28 day data and not the 7 and 14 day data?
