Market makers may also have to "mark up" the price in order to encourage selling. It could go parabolic.

That markup would create an opportunity
to sell your shares above the ask price since market makers would have to chase for the shares you own and get them off the market as fast as possible. It could play out a few ways that reflect this condition. Buy back those air shares!
