Dr. Nissen. To validate your theory that the results are in "the comparator", you should get the Cleveland Clinic or AZN to pony up another $.5B's to rerun STRENGTH with a Mineral Oil Placebo. I will place my bets that the results would be exactly the same as before.
Right - Nissen's trial was a massive failure not because he tested a crappy drug, but because AMRN cheated by using a "toxic" placebo - he can actually say that with a straight face?!?
Of course if its the comparator one would expect an increase in disease in the comparator arm but how does he explain the 9% reduction in plaque formation in the EPA arm in EVAPORATE ?
