Your quote :”Somebody Prove to me anywhere children 12 and under have Covid more than 1%.”

That link reports cases in children in the reported numbers as 14-24% of the cases. You didn’t say severe. Children since they are not vaccinated will make up more of the cases.

I agree and I am not discounting that kids could be left behind. I saw it in one of my children. We chose to put them into a pod. Not saying everyone has the means to do that. BUT, this is on the community and school management to own up and pony up extra funds to address the issue. I spent ... again ... countless hours on school board meetings, town budget meetings as did others. It was like pulling teeth to spend money on our children in order to make sure they make up for lost time. But we can spend easy money on a road or a traffic circle. I get what your saying but it is the responsibility of the parents to get involved and stop complaining what ‘others’ are doing or not doing. Make yourself heard and get people who have and can make good plans for this. It’s not just about complaining school is closed, children will be left behind... then blame others. You or the parents have to get involved and find alternatives and adapt. It’s a typical scenario. It’s easy to blame others for outcomes rather than playing and being part of a new solution. And just putting them back into school does not address the issues at hand. I get it and I too realize the implications of constantly shutting down.

Testing prior to going to school. I’m school testing. Social distancing. Mask wearing. Outdoor additional space. Hiring teachers (and paying them correctly), training them and understanding what is needed for the children because of this also helps. There isn’t just one answer. But actually getting parents to participate and voice concerns is part of the responsibility.

I and my partner are both working parents high up with responsibilities. Last spring sucked donkey Kong. It took a lot of work and extra effort to see the turn around. It also pains me to see how this was ‘just the flu’ and people complaining and discontinue the severity that ties all of this in to where we are and now what we have to do to move forward. IMO.

Good luck.

I’m hoping Opti can pull some of this stuff off.
