Yes, technically you are correct that the warrants are part of the accumulated deficit. But I was trying to keep it a bit simple. The driving factor on the large negative shareholder equity is the warrant liability.

Ex, money is fungible and net losses are typically not differentiated by the expenses that cause the accumulated loss.

Also, if there is an accumulated deficit of $1.37 billion that includes a warrant appreciation loss of $0.435 billion, then the majority of the deficit comes from losses in other expense categories, such as R&D and SG&A, equal to a larger amount of $0.935 billion.

Bottom line - losses are losses and accumulate until offset by earnings.
