Good morning. It is very difficult to pick the bottom or top when trading. If I`m buying a stock to hold for a current event, this is the best way I found to enter the position. Most of the time I make my initial purchase, the stock goes down within the same day or the next few days. When it goes down a certain % of my initial purchase I will add. My initial purchase usually is about 15 to 25% of my total investment. You can apply the same principals when you sell.
I`ve acquired this technique since I I`ve been in many forms of this business since 1982. From the American Stock Exchange to the NYSE, trading desks and working with major funds. I`m not trying to force it on anyone. Just passing my experience along. Best of success.
