I had to read it 3 times and look up some terms to get my head around it but think I now understand the subtilties in your post. It well explains why there are always large blocks of naked shorted shares and this just buying/selling large blocks and I don't believe includes:

Hedging the delta of a call option requires either a short sale of the underlying stock or the sale of an option that will offset the delta risk. To hedge using a short sale of stock, an investor would actively mitigate the delta by shorting stock equal to the delta at a specific price.

When you say:

It's all a grand illussion! As time goes on and a president is about to leave office they will announce a $5 trillion dollar gift to the bankers and the media won't even question it. You'd think there'd by a Senate Sub Committee at least. You see there all in on it. But in the end business are funded and the world goes round and round. After all it's an entire economy based on a fiat currency anyway.

I know they did the bank bailout in 2008 and we did also loose some large financial institutions like Lehman Brothers but sounds like you are saying that trillions $ are funneled to them all the time and it goes unnoticed. Just print some more money since fiat currency is not backed by anything.
