IMO that is not true, as I have witnessed the opposite what you state. I have seen good news reported on the last trading day of the week. That gives it a few days for word to spread over the weekend for a nice open Monday morning. I have seen that happen with a nice gap up from Friday's close. Not saying this is what's happening here, but it has occurred in the past.
