So does Kim, if he has to remove an actual sequence found in the original spider's silk he has been utilizing....

I have discussed this before. Silk in general does not do well when introduced with water. It is one of the reasons why silk shirts are dry clean only. The majority of the general population doesn't want to deal with dry cleaning casual wear (yet that is what MtheMovement makes).
