Thanks Nick! It’s always nice to be appreciated particularly from members of this board, who I consider to be some of the brightest and best I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking with. Being 40 year member of AA and the friends of Bill W., I’ve learned the importance of sharing my life experiences in hopes of being able to help others in all aspects of living one day at a time with a keen eye on the future!!! The tools that I’ve learned through the 22 Step program, I believe are a very solid way to maneuver through life for anyone, not just those of us that are challenged by our addictive personalities. A long time ago, a friend of mine asked me why I wasn’t embarrassed by telling everyone that I’m a recovering alcoholic, and I said it’s simple. If I wasn’t embarrassed by everyone seeing me stumbling around in public at various social events, why on earth would I be embarrassed to let people know that I’m getting help and on the road to recovery??? And I’ll tell you one thing, it’s so wonderful to actually go to bed at night and wake up in the morning, instead of passing out and coming to every morning:):):)
And another really cool thing I learned from an older guy that mowed my Dad’s lawn when I asked him how old he was and he said he didn’t rightly know but that it didn’t matter anyway because your true age is” How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you was??” So with that in mind Nick, we get to be a different age every day of our lives!!! Some days we’re feeling 20 and others, we’re feeling 100!!! Kinda like the ups and downs with our position in Northwest!!! But the great thing is that no matter how old we are or what the SP of Northwest is, we’re involved in something great that’ll keeps us excited because the result is so beneficial for all those cancer patients that so desperately need our support!!! Cheers to you my friend, BB
