As I walk down the aisle in stores that carry lots of these "ethnic" condiments my mouth starts to water, but as someone who has to watch my sodium intake I always pick up the bottle/jar and look at the nutritional information.
Many of these products that add flavor are just loaded with sodium; some as high as 700 or 800 mg for a 1 tbsp serving. That's about half of the total sodium my doc has prescribed for a full day.
So I weep and put the bottle/jar back on the shelf and continue my quest for flavor that isn't a sodium bomb.
