It would appear from the link below that the top 7 movies are being shown widely, and the rest are on very few screens. Also all of the top 7 are new movies.

The 2/11 top movie - A Little Red Flower - had 21,061 showings, but for 2/12 is reported to have 1 showing.

SO, are we to interpret that new movies suddenly take over? That seems doubtful -- where there is money to be made, you make it. You don't remove the top showing movie. So, it is unclear. Maybe bad reporting. Maybe only certain chains are open during this Chinese New Year, or on Day 1. Maybe the reporting is incomplete. Maybe something else.

Hopefully it will become clearer in the coming days.
