The purpose of the Technician Scientist Apprentice is to support the batch manufacturing of the company’s commercial products, to support the delivery of Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Products (ATMPs) as both ”Specials” and as Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs).

You will use specialised technical skills and advanced scientific techniques following procedures associated with Advent Bioservices operational plans. The role will operate within a highly regulated GMP environment because of the need to control the quality and safety of products.
Upon enrolment you will work closely with GMP Production Scientists, Quality Control staff and Quality Assurance staff to facilitate the efficient delivery of cellular therapy products for clinical use.

About the employer
Advent Bioservices began activity as a cell therapy contract development & manufacturing organisation (CDMO) in 2016. We are currently managing the development of a state-of-the-art facility for multiproduct GMP production outside Sawston in Cambridgeshire, which will allow scale up of current commercial production and initiate the provision of contract manufacturing services to meet the growing demand for such services in the UK.

The post holder will work closely with GMP Production Scientists, Quality Control staff and Quality Assurance staff to facilitate the efficient delivery of cellular therapy products for clinical use.
* Work in aseptic suites to GMP standards, and within microbiological safety cabinets using techniques such as cell culturing, to manufacture cellular therapy products for clinical use
* Assist in the labelling, packaging, storage and shipping of cellular therapy products and maintenance of product inventory
* Perform QC assays as part of product release, including use of flow cytometry, ELISA and ELISPOT assays, microscopy techniques, SDS electrophoresis
* Aid in the preparation of technical reports and other clinical and GMP required documentation including but not limited to batch production records (BPRs) and SOPs.
* Plan and undertake validation of new equipment used in GMP manufacture
* Undertake daily GMP production housekeeping activities and administration, including but not limited to cleaning, stock control, ordering materials and managing suppliers
