Actually, as I recall it, most of the dot.coms were Nasdaq companies. They didn't stay there, but that's where they began. Tons of startups--including Silicon Investor and Raging Bull--were bought by those Nasdaq companies for big bucks. Some people made money they still have; others made even more and lost it all.
But it seems a new generation will have to learn those lessons.
