Well technically we are over a nickel, but all stocks can be sold and bought by investors out to the 4th decimal. Market Makers can use 6 decimals. Hope this helps ... Soon we will be talking about Quarters

That's fractions of the dollar ie 1/20th of a dollar= .05

Cuz sellers/flippers lost leverage when shares converted to pennies...sellers/flippers working same 5-10-20Million shares day to day, the more micro, the more trades they can do...they like to do a certain volume of trades, no less than a certain number. So partial pennies are necessary.
