I don't disagree with you. When (not if) a bubble pops, it will end badly for some. This applies to a microbubble (Gamestop as an example), or a macro bubble (the market in general). This is not the debate this week, though some on CNBC will lead viewers to believe otherwise.

As I understand it, the debate this week is the 20-30 something age group taking issue with decisions being made for them, behind closed doors, under the cover of darkness. We are witnessing the rise of social media.

The cause chosen by the Robinhooders to flex their muscles is the long despised ability of a select few insider institutions (hedge funds and the like) being able to short a stock using a playing field that is highly biased towards the insider institutions and in ways not visible and/or available to retail traders.

Did you see the movie 'The Accountant'? The scene in the parking garage where Brax jumps into the car of a hedge fund manager and berates him for shorting companies into the ground?...and making obscene profits from it for his 'partners'? This is what is being played out in real life this week.
