Interesting. I'm still intrigued at how harmonic the price action was during the last run up from Aug 20 - Oct 1.....it was acting like an under-damped spring system, oscillating around its center of mass at .14
To me, clean under-damped harmonic oscillations like that imply the presence of external algorithmic pressure on the price (e.g. - the computer games between MM's that you mention). This is not what purely human-driven price action looks like....humans make things look ugly and imperfect because we are incapable of adhering to mathematical structure for extended periods of time.....so, whenever you catch a glimpse of something beautiful & structured like a damped harmonic wave, you can be sure that an algorithm is in play.
.14 just happened to be the 61.8% Fibonacci line drawn from the .08 lift off point. Therefor, I believe that the MM's that control the price action are using an algorithm based on harmonic trig functions constrained by Fibonacci levels.
The current run slowed near the 23.6% Fibonacci line to oscillate for a couple of days, before advancing to the next 38.2% Fibonacci line where'we're currently oscillating.
So, I guess I'm gonna work on a forecasting model based on these observations to try to inform a day trading strategy using a small portion of my position. Seems like a good way to increase my long position while we wait ;-)
