Pfizer came out with inhaled insulin 15 years ago. It failed for 2 reasons the inhaler was gigantic and very clunky and the patient had to have a pulmonary function test before starting it. All the convince was gone. Terrible idea, they must have had no prescribers advising them. The second I saw it I new I would never prescribe it. Inhaled VIP for acute and chronic lung diseases, now that is a completely different story.
