Yes, most patients require long term placement for vent weaning. Your wife will beat the odds!! The sooner leronlimab is available to everyone the better. Survival and time off mechanical ventilation is a massive outcome. This can’t happen soon enough. Hope she continues to progress today..

Kudos to your presence of mind, leadership, and strength of character in overcoming obstacles to get this done.

Prayers still coming...and a suggestion:
Marksch1 - During this episode (tongue in cheek), I suspect you've been making sure you get lots of rest, healthy meals, and restorative exercise...
Well, it's time to make sure YOU don't run yourself down too much and stress/worry/a sense of helplessness/etc. can sure do that
>>>making YOU a candidate for whatever comes down the pike.
Take care of yourself. It appears your wife is getting "enlightened" care, WONDERFUL, but if something happens to you...

You want to be there for her

Wishing you both the very best in this new year!

I have been following your wife's story, and I am so happy to hear about her progress. I want to tell you how touched and impressed I am by your resourcefulness and diligence in getting your wife the very best care possible, including jumping through all the hoops to get Leronlimab for her.

You can rest assured knowing that you did everything humanly possible for her.

In addition, I hope it occurs to you that getting Leronlimab for her may very well be aiding her long term recovery and saving her from debilitating long hauler effects down the road.

I know everyone here is pulling for you and your wife and her continued recovery. May God bless you both.

Marksch1, I've been following all of your posts and most of the replies, as closely as I can and have been thrilled to hear of the progress. Continuing to pray for you and others here who have loved ones, friends or who they themselves have the virus. I appreciate your candidness and willingness to keep us updated. Blessings to you and your wife and may God and LL do the job. I do believe in both.
