As has been pointed out Anavex has been selling shares and appears to be quite happy about it. ;-) Missling seemed proud of the $49MM in cash that the company has.
Traders are shareholders until they sell. I suspect we are discussing the meaning of shareholder. Every buy/sell involves a selling shareholder.
If you take the word shareholder to imply a long term holder of shares then yeah those shareholders are not really happy to sell. I'm certainly holding on to my shares although I do confess to a small cache of trading shares.
Alas, the market is made up of a lot of different people with different goals. Silly people that don't know a rocket ship when they see one. :-)
