Looks like it is just for holding the patch in place Gaffer, no therapeutic function.

Probably the same Kinesiology type tape that is so good at adhering to the skin.

This is the the first Product to Market, IMO others will follow that combine Kinesiology Therapy with ActiPatch Therapy.
