Great point. Home-made ones do very little to help protect you, as certain materials were not designed to prevent viruses from traveling through.

That is not true. N95’s are for medical personnel. The initial statements that other masks do nothing was bad information and it has been shown that countries that wear basic masks and practice social distancing have controlled the virus. It protects you when everyone wears one and it still reduces chances of getting infected when others don’t wear one but less so. This is an epidemic/pandemic, so SOCIAL behavior, what others do, affects YOU.

Yesterday, in one day, we lost more people to COVID19 than Japan lost in all of 2020. Japan does all the things that COVID19 skeptics and critics say we should not do. So has Taiwan. New Zealand and Australia have done what we refused to do... and now they do not have to do it, they just keep Americans out or under forced quarantine when we arrive. When this is over, we will needlessly have lost a 500,000 to 750,000 Americans because people could not manage to behave decently (whether as just humans, or as religiously compassionate humans) or show respect for others.
