I just picked up my Vascepa 3-month refill scrip Tuesday, CVS. Same price= $9 co-pay. I forgot to ask whether gV was in stock here in N. Va.

I also received a letter from Caremark/GEHA that my scrip for Vascepa had been approved through 10/31/2021.

Do you really think 10k scrips are from CA alone? Possible I guess, since docs in LA and NYC are by far the two largest prescribers of V. The problem in CA is magnified by the law that coupons cannot be used once a generic is available. About the switching of V scrips to GL - you know that can only happen if the doc approves it - he might even need to write a new scrip since the OB does not list them as equivalent. Savings to insurers aren't much, if anything, buy giving GV, but patients save a boatload - most Part D plans have $3 to $7 copays for generics.
