I believe you could get a blood test that would determine if it were Covid, and if you may have some immunity. It's not complete immunity as some people have gotten the disease twice.
While I agree there are different strains of the virus, it's also apparent that people who had very mild cases of the disease gave it to others who didn't survive it. I believe that its clear that people are most contagious early, often before they feel any symptoms.
I don't know if someone I was speaking with is correct, but he's from Israel and indicated that they have a test that gives a readout in seconds. He also believe they have a vaccine that's going to the Israeli military first. I don't know that it's truly an approved vaccine, or if the military is in fact a good size trial of the vaccine. The problem is that even if the vaccine is effective, mass producing it in quantities meaningful for the world will probably be the problem.
I know the 99 cent store has pregnancy tests, if Covid-19 tests that gave immediate indications that were reasonably accurate, then we might have something good. The key is doing it frequently enough to know you're not carrying it around and giving it to others before you even know you have it. A cheap test that's self administered would really be great.
