Even with my familiarity it is hard to follow
to which side of that trade you are speaking.

Oct 5s, for those following this bouncing ball,
Could have been offered or purchased for ANY of at least three
reasons. "Protecting" one of those positions would require
some significant assumptions.

Guess....They expire and the dividend seekers are happy.
The "here we go" purchasers above $5 should have exited
some time ago.
And the gamblers yesterday may just be covering a short.

Net Net....too little open interest to worry about
affecting the SP.
