MM’s are basically traders at Broker/Dealers that work on the firms equity trading desk that make markets, take positions and work street orders in OTC stocks like Lqmt. I’ve worked in the industry for a couple decades on the bond side and would hang with them on occasion and watch how they operate. I often told them how do you sleep at night taking advantage of clueless, panicked investors and they would smile and say, it’s called a big quarterly BONUS!! Cantor Fitzgerald and Oppenheimer are 2 examples.
Actually, the cheat is the main goal; money is secondary. Kang got caught at massive cheats after graduating from the Bain Firm. Anything Kang touched was a magnet for con-artists and was touched back by a whole slew of con artists who beat him at his own game. They are still milking the contaminated goods of the KBG.
