Ah, yes, I too remember the trials and tribulations. I've mined with Genesis (until BTC dove below $6k and wasn't sustainable to mine with 3rd party). I got caught up in a couple 'mining scams' as well. It's been one heck of a learning experience and I'm always open to share my experiences with anyone looking to gain knowledge. It's an exciting sector to be involved for sure, GLTA!
