Ok, then, blarcamesine for all, early.

The RWE [real world experiences] given by Dr. Stephen MacFarlane concerning better sleep in both the P2a AD and the P2b/3 AD clinical trials gives considerable witness to the patient sleep improvement provided by A 2-73!

Indeed.

But what I'm going to suggest will be, should be utterly dismissed by those who base their medical perspectives solely on replicated, double-blind, peer-reviewed clinical studies published journal articles. Nothing related to blarcamesine (Anavex 2-73) or any of the other Anavex sigma-1 receptor agonists yet enters that elevated realm.

What if, as ample preliminary experiences reveal, as mentioned by Dr. MacFarlane, who conducted the blarcamesine Phase 2a Alzheimer's study in Australia, show that the drug really does promote, induce, or facilitate deep, healthful sleep? A quick scan of the information on most CNS (central nervous system) diseases will reveal the almost ubiquitous presence of sleep pathologies, at least to some degree. As revealed in the Science article, sleep disruption is involved with, can help cause neurodegeneration.

So, here's a new blarcamesine scenario.

First, importantly, blarcamesine has never induced severe adverse events ("side effects"), in either murines (lab rodents) or humans. As a drug working in the CNS, It's uncommonly safe.

That, then, would allow prophylactic dosing. The drug would be administered chronically (continuously) to individuals who might be at risk of developing any of the CNS diseases with sleep disruptions. Of course, that's just about everyone who attains an age of 50.

Then, such an individual would start popping a pill of blarcamesine with breakfast each day. Henceforth, healthful sleep would be induced; various CNS diseases would be precluded or obviated.

"But wait! You can't take some powerful drug without first getting a disease diagnosis. That's not the way medical practice works."

Well, not always, today. Billions of dollars of statins are prescribed for people who don't, yet, have the cardiovascular pathologies those drugs 'treat.' Prophylaxis — a measure taken to maintain health or prevent the occurrence or spread of a disease.

I envision that within a decade blarcamesine will be taken daily by very healthy adults, to stay that way for the rest of their lives. Tonight, I'll sleep on that thought.

I must have missed something -- when has MacFarlane commented on the current P2b/3 Alzheimer's trial? Where is that link?
